Comet Hale-Bopp sets beyond the hills that define the north
side of the valley of the Middle Fork of the Holston River. This is
the view from George Kelley's farmhouse in southwest Virginia. I made
this short (30 sec) exposure through a 135mm Nikkor at F2.8, piggybacked
on the 5-inch refractor.
To take advantage of these excellent skies, I earlier guided a 20
minute exposure through the refractor
(it's 294k but it's worth it).
