OK, it's a digital confection recreating the view shortly after moonrise from the Mount Pisgah Inn. I made this photograph in daylight. Some of the ridges in the most distant range of mountains are fictitious (I removed trees to simplify the horizon and had to make them up). This view is to the south and the moon was really much higher in the sky. This "moonrise" exists only on the computer. The clouds filling the valley are real. Mostly. Return to Photo.
